About Us
Mike and Paula are the proprietors of Meadowood Music - a stringed instrument specialty shop between Reading and Allentown, PA. They are performing musicians (and Mike is a violin builder) who maintain this website as a resource for musicians.
Resources, Care Tips and Glossary sections on this web site present information that's useful to all musicians irrespective of where they live: info about instruments, PA components, performers and genres of music, as well as links to music associations and magazines and to manufacturers of high-quality musical gear.
Some sections of the web site are more useful to musicians who live a drivable distance from the Meadowood store in South East Pennsylvania. In addtion to the items of broad interest just listed, the Resources section links to local and regional musicians and identifies performing venues, open mics and jams. The Instruction section gives info about Meadowood's in-house teachers. The Directions section helps you get here from wherever you are.
The Store section of the website is currently under development (Oct 22, 2006). You'll undoubtedly notice that the contents of this section are out of date (sorry for any inconvenience). You'll also note that the current version of the Store part of the web site has text that reads:
"We do not have an on-line store. Therefore, there is no need to give us your credit card or bank card number via this web site. So please don't. We prefer to have live interaction with customers, either at the store, or if distance is prohibitive, via phone. Please call or visit us if you wish to place an order. We would love to meet you."
