Connections to Local Musicians

The area around Meadowood Music is full of remarkably talented musicians.  We often get inquiries about musicians who can play at an event and/or schedules for musicians' performances.  This page gives a brief description of musicians and the music they perform and provides links to web sites and FaceBook pages so that you can reach performers directly if you want.

Mike Hertzog & The Blue Mountain Gang

performs old Country & Bluegrass Music. Sometimes Mike is a soloist; sometimes is half of a duo with his wife Linda,; sometimes he fronts the whole Blue Mountain Gang band.

East Side Dave & The Mountain Folk Band

performs in many different musical styles including original songs, sing-a-long tunes, & traditional music from Appalachian & Alpine musical styles. 

Frog Holler

Frog Holler

is an Americana/alt-country band that has grown up playing music together since they were in their teens & twenties.

The Druckenmillers

are a husband andwWife duo who perform Old-Time Country & other Traditional Music. Performances sometimes include their son, Nate & sometimes adoptive family members, Stacy & Norm.

Wayfarers & Company

are a group of longtime friends Norm Williams, Bob Mallalieu, Amanda Parker, Carol Walker & John James to comprise Wayfarers & Company. Together they perform gospel music & old time songs on traditional instruments as well as a cappella vocal arrangements.

Ken Gehret

has been performing music for most of his life.  He performs, teaches, composes & arranges music on voice & MANY instruments (strings, woodwind & keys - focus on guitar & violin).  Performing mostly Country & jazz now, he has been on Nashville's Grand Old Opry with Jim & Jesse & the Virginia Boys as well as with Roy Clark & Mell Tellis.

Miradow

is Donna Mira Lang & Jessica Madow.  Together they perform a wide variety of melodic & percussive music with piano, hammered dulcimer, guitar, ukulele & vocals.

Spirit Wing

performs music that comes from a strong folk/acoustic music tradition along with traditional Native songs that date back hundreds of years. All four members of Spirit Wing have performed in bands that featured Rock, Blues, Bluegrass, and Country music.

Judy Terwilliger

performs a wide range of music on violin/fiddle.  As principal violinist in the orchestra, Sunday Sinfonia, she plays classical & pop.  She also fiddles in Folk, Bluegrass & Celtic styles.  At private engagements, she plays the music requested.

perform the most captivating music of the 1960s, recreating the era's electrifying music at festivals, concerts, private corporate functions, class reunions & nightclubs. 

 

 

Keith Brintzenhoff

specializes in Pennsylvania German music, dance, instruments, & folklore. He plays a variety of stringed instruments, tells what he describes as, "the world's best stories and jokes," & does lively kid's shows. He calls & teaches hoedowns & leads the Toad Creek Ramblers.

Wordplay

perform a few covers, but play mostly original music from the mind of Charlie Farrell - vocals & guitar.  Amy Forsythe - fiddle, voice & piano joins Charlie to make a delightful mix of music & a fine time.

Cat Elwell & Saucony Grass

perform Bluegrass at local and regional festivals, intimate performing venues, restaurants, pubs and private parties.  Fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin & bass support lively vocal harmonies.

Crow Hill

performs an eclectic mix of western, country, gospel, sentimental & bluegrass music.  A mix of instrumental & vocal pieces, their music is fun. Their family-friendly mix is available at festivals, private functions, churches & fire halls.

Butch Imhoff

has passed from this life, leaving a legacy of music playing and inspiring others to play. Founder of the Acoustic Road Show, showcased upcoming musicians throughout Berks County and on BCTV. He made a difference in the world.

Maggie Spike

(Maggie & Eric Gernerd) are a pair of singer/songwriters who perform original vocal & guitar music that draws from a wide array of musical styles.  Maggie, as "Miss Maggie," specializes in music for children. 

Dan Harakal

performs with acoustic and electric guitar in a wide array of styles.  He plays a variety of venues as a soloist and in bands  Dan teaches guitar privately.

Hannah Violet Trio

plays acoustic cover & original Country, Rock & Folk with Irish influence on fiddles, mandolin, guitar, dobro, bodhran & both male & female vocals. Their simply enjoyable down home sound connects in a real way with the audience.  

Down by the Glenside

Down by the Glenside

performs traditional Irish music in the spirit of the Clancy Brothers, Tommy Makem, Luke Kelly and the Wolfe Tones.  They play pubs, restaurants, festivals and private parties.

Rhythm Road

performs an eclectic blend of folk, jazz, pop and originals. JoAnn & Morrell, Mike Fleming, Henry Patterson & Don Consul combine their talents in rich, rewarding, intimate performances in an array of venues.

TJ Bebb

performs & records contemporary Country music. He's opened for National artists including Loretta Lynn, George Jones, Craig Morgan & Montgomery Gentry. TJ has moved back home, oft commuting to Nashville but performing here as well.

performs children's programs that include singing, guitar, percussion, poems and stories to entertain and teach children of all ages. Peggy Gernerd is Miss Maggie. She performs throughout eastern Pennsylvania.

has performed throughout the region for decades, as a band leader, band member, open mic host, solo performer & in leading roles in musical theater.  Street Box Strummer is his solo act: one man, four As the Street Box Duo or Generations Band he offers music for every occasion.

is a songwriter and folksinger who performs children's & family-family-music and is an arts educator and entrepreneur. Dave performs mostly as a solo act now, but has played in several bands & genres. Dave founded Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem, where great live music has happened since 1976.

is a six member band that performs Gypsy Jazzgrass. Ethan Bosco (guitar, vocals), Syd Jones (vocals, washboard, spoons) Tony Gentile (lead guitar), Kyle Madeya (upright bass) Zac Brock (mandolin), James Haggerty (fiddle, vocals) have a great energy, performing at festivals, bars and private parties.

Uncle Jake + the 18 Wheel Gang

is a six member acoustic band that performs Bluegrass, Jug & Folk Music. Brady James (vocals/guitar/suitcase) Loren Lefty Wilson (vocals/threejo), Stove (vocals/clawjo) Kaleb Dunn (vocals/mandolin) Zak (vocals/upright bass) & Reber (washboard) perform at festivals, bars & private parties.

Serene Green

is a four-piece bluegrass band from Eastern Pennsylvania, featuring Quentin Fisher (mandolin), Michael Johnson (guitar), Shane McGeehan (bass), and Steve Leonard (banjo). Live performances include original songs, traditional bluegrass songs and fiddle tunes, and other unexpected favorites in the style of bluegrass.
